Oh Hi! I’m Hema Bhaskar . Ages ago, my ancestors migrated from Andhra Pradesh or Telangana ( I don’t know :P) to Tamil Nadu. So my mother tongue happens to be Telugu technically. But I was born, experienced surges in various hormones, learnt to deal with them all* in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu. I was raised in an all girls Malayali Christian convent school where knowing Malayalam meant surviving school better. School and The Hindu newspaper made me pretty comfortable in English that I spoke of Taboo subjects and life in general ( Wink!) with relative ease. My father works under the central government and transfer meant struggling to communicate in another state. So here comes Hindi into my life and I end up learning it for 11 long years that I perfectly understand Mahabharat and Siya ke Ram (They are Hindi mythological soaps lol) but struggle to converse with the rickshawalla bhaiyya.
